Turkmen President: The Caspian Sea Gas Pipeline is Giant & Promising

Ashgabat – The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, revealed the implementation of systematic work in search of new layers of industrial oil deposits, the development and operation of “black gold” deposits, and exploration in the Al-Jarf area adjacent to the Caspian Sea, during the opening of the 28th International Conference and Exhibition of “Oil” Gas in Turkmenistan – 2023” (OGT-, in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.

The President added:” The scope of the large-scale phased development of this giant field and the optimal conditions created in our country for attracting investment in this process and not limiting itself to the possibilities of exporting natural gas, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to its processing and is open to mutually beneficial cooperation in this segment”.
The President highlighted the great opportunities for foreign business people to participate in the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline , which aims to transport Turkmen natural gas to Southeast Asia, which is expected to strengthen the economies of all participating countries in the region and have a positive impact, stressing that the Galkinesh gas field, which is one of the largest fields in the world, plays a unique role in meeting the global demand for gas. President said: “Turkmenistan is not limited to the possibilities of exporting natural gas, it attaches great importance to its processing, and is open to mutually beneficial cooperation in this sector.”
“In the Renaissance of a new era of a strong state, neutral, independent Turkmenistan seeks to use natural resources not only for the benefit of the Turkmen people, but also for the benefit of other peoples of the world, and takes effective measures in this area,” the President explained.
The conference, which is launched under the slogan “Reliable – Sustainable – Clean Energy”, aims to strengthen regional communication, analyze global energy trends, attract foreign investment in the oil and gas sector in Turkmenistan, and provide opportunities to present new investment projects in fuel, energy, oil and gas chemical complexes in Turkmenistan.

The services and goods of about 50 companies from 30 countries are presented at the International Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2023”, which opened today in the morning at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The exhibition demonstrates the achievements of the Turkmen and global oil and gas industry, complemented by fresh ideas and functions that correspond to modern trends in the development of the industry.
The successes of the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan are widely presented at the bright informative stands of the state concerns “Turkmengas” and “Turkmennebit”, as well as the state corporation “Turkmengeologia”.
The purpose of the exhibition is to create a platform for discussing issues of sustainable development of the energy sector in the region, to get acquainted with the latest trends in global energy and to attract foreign investment in the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan.
The international exhibition will last three days, ending on October 28. It is expected that more than 10 thousand people will attend the profile show.
In the afternoon, the XXVIII International Conference “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2023” will open at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event will be attended by government officials, representatives of international organizations, oil and gas companies and experts from the USA, Russia, China, UAE, UK, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Singapore, Turkey, Azerbaijan, etc.

The plenary session was addressed by Batyr Amanov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers for Oil and Gas; Myrat Archaev, Deputy Chairman of the State Concern Turkmengaz (Turkmen Gas); Musabbeh Al Kaabi, Executive Director for Low Carbon Solutions and International Growth at ADNOC, Hou Qijun, President of CNPC (online), Rovshan Najaf, President of SOCAR, Kadri Simson, European Commissioner for Energy (video message), Medhat M. Kamal, President of SPE 2023; Baker Hughes Caspian Vice President Elena Akoltseva, bp Vice President for Finance in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey Colin Allan and UNECE Sustainable Energy Division Director Dario Liguti.

In the first session, Myrat Archaev, Deputy Chairman of the State Concern Turkmengaz (Turkmen Gas), spoke on “Ensuring the energy needs of today while investing in the energy systems of tomorrow” and also discussed the utilisation of natural and chemical gas.
Chairman of the Board of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Turkmenistan Rahymberdi Jepbarov presented economic indicators: January-August foreign trade turnover of Turkmenistan increased by 12.7 percent, of which exports amounted to almost 8 billion US dollars, the trade surplus was about 3 billion US dollars.
