Qatar Airways Announces the Launch of Flights to Almaty in Kazakhstan

DOHA, Qatar – Qatar Airways is pleased to announce that it will launch scheduled Double weekly passenger service to Almaty Almaty, Kazakhstan starting from 19 November 2021. The new service will be operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft, featuring 12 seats in Business Class and 132 seats in Economy Class.

This service will enable passengers flying to and from Almaty to enjoy seamless connectivity to over 140 destinations, via the World’s Best Airport, Hamad International Airport in Doha, the State of Qatar.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “We are proud to bring our award-winning services to Kazakhstan, adding this unique destination to our growing network. This new service reinforces the warm relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Kazakhstan, and reaffirms our commitment to further developing trade and tourism between our two great countries.”

In same time, the Kazakh ambassador to Qatar, His Excellency Arman Issagaliyev, expressed his happiness at the return of flights between Qatar and Kazakhstan, and said that the resumption of air navigation between Doha and Almaty would contribute to promoting economic growth, revitalizing the movement of people and goods and advancing the transportation sector between the two brotherly countries.

He added that it is a step in the right direction, within the framework of many joint programs and plans between the two countries, pointing out that relations with Qatar are not friendship but rather a fraternal relationship and that his country is fully prepared for further cooperation and exchange of experiences on the path of development and progress for both sides.

The Kazakh ambassador explained: We are proud to resume flights between Doha and Almaty, in a step that will certainly contribute to consolidating relations between the two sides, increasing means of cooperation and ensuring the success of development programs between the two countries in the air transport sector, thus contributing to the expansion of economic and commercial activity between the two sides, by meeting travel requirements. For all residents of the two countries and foreign visitors wishing to visit the two countries.

Kazakhstan is the economic powerhouse of the Central Asia region. It is an adventurer’s paradise, with landscapes varying from snow-capped mountains to expansive deserts, rocky canyons, coniferous forests, and untouched river deltas.
